Getting started

How do I print a cheque from my computer?

Download the app, install it and start it. A short setup asks for your bank, a name for the account (and its last 4 digits if you like), your printer and how the leaf goes in, then prints a test on plain paper. You can skip any step and do it later from Settings or Accounts.

Then type the date, payee and amount, put one blank leaf in the printer's manual feed and press Print. The user manual shows every step with pictures.

Which Windows versions does it run on?

Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit. There is no Mac or phone version.

Which banks does it work with?

The Universal preset fits the cheque leaves of most Bangladeshi banks. Bank presets with the exact layout of a bank are added as we measure them and are downloaded automatically. With Premium you can calibrate any leaf yourself. See the list of supported banks.

Which printers can I use?

Any printer with a Windows driver that can take one cheque leaf through a manual feed. If yours can't, use the A4 mode: print the A4 outline once, tape the leaf inside it and feed the A4 sheet.

My test print is not in the right place. What now?

After Test on plain paper the app asks how it came out. Choose It printed upside down and the app turns the page for you, or Everything is a bit off and move all of it with the arrows in steps of ½, 1 or 2 mm. Both are on every plan. If only one item is off, Premium lets you move that item alone, and the Calibration page in Advanced mode moves every field in steps of 0.1 mm.

Writing and printing

How does it write the amount in words?

In English, from the same number as the figure, so the two always agree. Choose the Bangladeshi system (15,62,500 = Fifteen Lakh Sixty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Taka Only) or the international one (1,562,500 = One Million Five Hundred Sixty-Two Thousand Five Hundred Taka Only). Paisa are written too (and Fifty Paisa Only). You can try it on the home page.

Does it print my bank's logo or MICR line?

No. It prints only the date, payee, amount, amount in words and the crossing. Everything else is already on your bank's leaf.

Will my bank accept a computer-printed cheque?

Most do, but rules differ. Ask your branch before you start, and always check the alignment with a test on plain paper first.

What counts as one cheque?

Each cheque printed – one at a time, printed again, or printed with many at once – and each cheque saved as a PDF. Tests on plain paper, measuring sheets, the A4 outline and cheques saved for later are free. The app checks your allowance after the printer has accepted the job, so a printer that is off never uses up a cheque. Windows cannot tell the app whether paper actually came out, so a jammed print still counts.

Can I write a cheque now and print it later?

Yes. Press Save for later instead of Print cheque. It waits in Cheques › Ready to print until you open it and print it. Nothing is counted until it prints.

I spoiled a leaf. What do I do?

Open the cheque in Cheques › Printed and choose Mark as spoiled (with a reason if you like), then Print again to print it on the next leaf. Both cheques stay in your records, linked to each other.

Accounts and cheque books

How do I add another bank account?

Open Accounts and press Add account: choose the bank, give it a name, and pick the printer. The Free plan has one account (the main one); Premium adds as many as you need, each with its own layout and printer.

What do cheque books do? Premium

Enter the first leaf number and the number of leaves of each cheque book (in Accounts, Cheque books…). The app then fills in the next leaf number on every cheque, warns you when a book is running low, and keeps a register of every leaf: used, spoiled, skipped or still unused.

Excel, many cheques and reports

How do I import cheques from Excel? Premium

In Cheques › Ready to print press Import from Excel and choose an .xlsx or .csv file. It needs a Pay to and an Amount column; Date, Account, Crossing, Cheque no. and Note are optional. The window offers a template file to start from. Every row is checked and shown to you before anything is imported (up to 1 000 rows, 5 MB). The rows become cheques in Ready to print – importing never prints.

How do I print many cheques at once? Premium

In Cheques › Ready to print tick the cheques (or Select all) and press Print N cheques. The app checks them first, then goes through them one leaf at a time and tells you which leaf to put in; you can skip one or stop. At the end, tick any that came out wrong: they are marked spoiled and put back in Ready to print. Each cheque counts when it prints.

Which reports are there? Premium

Cheques issued, by payee, by month, by account, dated later, spoiled and skipped, outstanding cheques, cleared cheques, bounced, stopped and cancelled, and bank reconciliation. Choose the period (including the July–June fiscal year) and the account, then print the report, save it as PDF or export it to Excel.

Bank status and balance

What do Outstanding, Cleared and Bounced mean?

A printed cheque is Outstanding until the bank pays it. Mark it Cleared when it shows on your statement, Bounced if the bank returned it, Payment stopped if you asked the bank not to pay it, or Cancelled if you no longer want it. A cheque still outstanding after 6 months is shown as out of date, and one dated after today as dated later. Use Bank status in Cheques › Printed or in the cheque's details; every plan has this.

How does “you can spend” work? Premium

Open Bank balance… on the account and type the balance your bank shows (statement, app or SMS), then tick the cheques the bank has already paid. The app subtracts every cheque not cleared yet and shows what you can really spend. Write cheque shows it under the amount and warns you before you print more than that. The app does not know about deposits, so update the balance after money comes in.

Your data and PCs

Do you see my cheques?

No. Payees, amounts, words, dates, notes, cheque numbers, accounts, cheque books, bank balances and the history never leave your PC. For each cheque the server receives only a random job number and the time, to count your allowance. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

How do I back up my cheques or move to a new PC?

The app makes a safety copy on your PC every day on every plan – it helps if the data on this PC is ever damaged. To keep a copy elsewhere or move to another PC, use Settings › Your data › Back up now…: it saves everything to one file protected with a password you choose. On the new PC, install the app and use Restore from a backup… with the same password. Backup and restore need Premium. Sign out on the old PC with “Also remove this PC from my account”, or remove it on My account › PCs.

How many PCs can I use?

1 on the Free plan, 3 with Premium. You can remove a PC you no longer use from My account (2 times in 30 days).

You go back to the Free plan and nothing is deleted: every account, cheque, cheque book, balance and report stays on your PC. You print from your main account only (choose which one is main in Accounts); cheque books stay readable but the next leaf number is no longer filled in; reports, Excel import, printing many at once, bank balance, backups and calibration are locked until you renew.
